From Mathesian...

I will be attending the Joint Mathematics Meetings in San Diego next week, and I thought it would be nice for a bunch of us to meet up. My first thought was Tuesday evening, during the ProjectNEXT dinner, since there is no way anyone here is involved with that, but then I thought that some people might not be in town yet.

So I hereby proclaim that there will be a College Misery meetup at a bar in San Diego on Wednesday, January 9. I will scope out a good location the night before, and post more details then.

Happy mathing,
Mathesian

  1. There are only 4 of us. We all teach at Weber State. Why do we have to meet in San Diego, too. Nutty.

  2. I would give one of my testicles, the small one, perhaps, to spend some time in San Diego. I am shoveling snow, including four terrifying steps that lead to my office building.

  3. Snow, ugh. I recently flew back and forth across the country - don't ask - and I couldn't believe how much of the US was snow covered. Entire states, even places not usually socked with the white stuff.

    1. Snow is great - my dog loves it. It certainly makes the year less boring.

It's like hitting yourself on the head with a hammer... feels so good when spring comes.

  4. JEALOUS would totally go to this if I were in San Diego then.

  5. If you want to do this right, go to the Aero Club on India St.
Jillion beers on tap. Allegedly where the bartenders go to drink.

Do it wrong: bar at a TGIF or Applebees.

  6. Hey, it's our HDC, so this seems highly appropriate. Wednesday night sounds good, I'll be there.

  7. Will someone be liveblogging the math HDC? It'd be great to see how the other half lives.

  8. We, the mathematicians of CM, will meet at 7pm PST, tomorrow, January 10, at Craft & Commerce, on 675 Beech Street, between India and Kettner, in San Diego. I will be wearing a beanie cap.
